Best discount ever? FFL 03, only costs $30 every 3 years and you get dealer pricing on everything.

C&R gig is up at Midway. I've got dealer status for my (hobby) business, Rogue Precision, LLC. at Brownells and Grafs. Midway denied dealer status. Conditions for dealer status are outlined at bottom of MidwayUSA home page.

We discussed this topic in reloading forum a few weeks ago, just about all the mail order businesses have quit giving discounts for new 03 ffl holders.

Now, I'll tell you one better. Jason Perkins has 07 ffl and dealer status with MidwayUSA. I needed a barrel asap so I called Jason so he could order on his account pricing. Surprise, Surprise !! His pricing is retail, no savings.

Grafs requires you order at least $2000.00 a year to maintain dealer pricing.

I went a couple of rounds with Midway before asking myself if I really needed them. Being 5 miles away, the answer was yes. On an emergency basis for gun parts only and never without promo codes.

When did this go into effect?

I ordered a few PMags an some other goodies not long ago and I got my C&R discount...

I'm callin them on Monday...

If this is in fact true, we should all find out Larry or someone else in managements email and Phone Number and tell them we will not buy from them anymore...  I'm sure there are a few other Forums we could spread the word to and really get some numbers to contact them and bitch...

Maybe if they start losing alot of customers, it will make a difference?

You might be getting a discount. Check item price, then log in and check price. I do know for a fact Jason no longer receives his discount. He never ordered much from Midway anyway. He always fussed at me for putting as much business with Larry as I had been.

My last shipment from Brownells was $647.00. Parts for one 1911. That;s doing one on the cheap. It's common for parts on one project to run a grand and I'll do at least four 1911s a year.

Graf's is worse yet with a couple of rifle projects. Two rifle scopes makes 2k minimum, add another 2k in reloading supplies per year, not to mention Dillon stuff ain't cheap.

All in, Larry gives away a lot of business to Grafs and Brownells every year.

To answer your question, when this all happened ? Dunno, go to home page and read, " becoming a dealer."

Will your phone call make a difference ? I've exchanged emails with Larry and phone conversations with his daughter. Here's my take on your phone call.

My gig was up with Midway a few years ago. Used to spend thousands with them every year. I went online to order a Harris bi-pod that was on sale and about fell out of my chair when I saw the dealer price.

I thought surely it had to be a typo, so I logged out and checked the regular retail price. It was about 40% below the given dealer price.

So I fired off an email to customer service asking them to check on the dealer price for that item, since it was obviously a mistake.....

I got a nasty reply saying that WAS the CORRECT dealer price - and the reason given - was so that their REAL customers could get a bargain on items instead of DEALERS!

WTF????  I'm spending a couple grand a year with you but I'm not a "REAL" customer???

I even tried to go back and order it as a "real customer" by not logging in to my account, but as soon as I entered my shipping info it automatically kicked me up to the ridiculous overblown dealer price.

They are an absolute last resort now as far as I'm concerned.

p.s.

I just checked their "Becoming a dealer" page. Same as it has always been....

I know that (as with brownells) every time I visit I have to log out then in for the pricing to update correctly.
The problem with Brownells is their reloading site (sinclair) will not give you a discount with a C&R and Graffs requires a $2k/yr min. I got my dealer acct with graffs this year since I plan to order a bunch of reloading stuff, but I expect this will be spread out over 4-5 sites in an effort to get the absolute best pricing.

Yup.  Gotta shop around for the best deal.  Frequently my "shopping list" is split between Midway and Brownells because one or the other has the better price.

True, the thing I hate about midway and graffs though is that in supporting a 'local' missouri business I am forced to support the man (pay sales tax) in addition to paying for shipping.

While on that note, am I the only one to notice that Graffs taxes at a much higher rate than midway?

Can explain tax rates. Midway is subject to charge county tax rate. Not city. Grafs is inside Mexico city limits.

I need my Beretta refinished, and I've had help from him in the past (he helped me with a front detent in exchange for a spring).

He still around here?

I would refinish your Beretta, but I've got too many pistols to build, and I am working on one for a gun magazine right now.  I just don't have the time, and not sure when or if I will so right now I'm just not taking on any outside work. You could probably send it off to Robar, I've been told they have a fairly quick turn around time?

Hey J. I was actually hoping to have it done within ~48 hours OAT, since it's my only capable firearm atm.
