Gotta love wives!
I was complaining that there isn't a place around Pacifc where people can go and just talk about guns, archery, hunting, or whatever and do private-person sales. She suggested that I turn our carriage house into a "club house" just for that purpose. The idea is to have a place where sellers and buyers could get together regularly to swap storeies and/or gear. I don't have an FFL, so I can't do transfers, just provide a place for people to meet. We also have a practice range for archery (50 yards or so) and a 100 yd, single lane, gun range –– obviously not for heavy use. We're about half way between Pacific and Cedar Hill. If we did this, would there be any interest? |

Deff a keeper that wife of yours.
A bit of a drive, but I think that maybe a few times during the winter I would like to come down from the Warrenton area. As a kid, I liked to go over to one of my friends house during the winter for a day. His father and a few of his friends and a few of us boys would go out to the machine shed and sit around the old pot belly stove. Dang shed leaked cold air in, so we all sat near that old wood burner and have a good old time. |

The carriage house is about 1,200 square feet, but some of it is taken up with wood shop equipment and other stuff. If this turns out to be a good thing, I'll clear out more and more of it. My vision is similar to yours –– fridge, coffee, tables, couches, and a TV. Here's a pic of the place:

It's unheated except for a small kerosene heater. That's one thing I want to do this year. I stopped competing when we moved from Commiefornia in 2001, but I'm grtting the itch again. We did go up to a three-gun shoot way north of Columbia, but just observed. With all the positive responses, I guess I'll have to clean the place up a bit. The spousal unit has a garage sale planned for this weekend so we'll be here both Saturday and Sunday. Anyone who wants to stop in is more than welcome. If anyone wants the address, drop me a PM. |
