Ok, so I am a bit befuddled here. I am starting my form 1 to SBR my Wiselite Sterling. I am filling out the form 1 and need to get my fingerprints and get my CLEO to sign off. So, do I need to get the fingerprint card from the ATFE or just use one of the Sheriffs office cards?
Or do I just contact the ATF and have them send me a packet or something? Yeah, I already did all this for a couple of suppressors a few years back but I can't remember how I did it all. |

I may be stepping on my own dick here, but would it be possible to get a sticky detailing all that we need, to acquire a NFA item? Maybe with some input from guys that have them. I'm a pretty smart sumbitch, but this stuff is confusing the hell out of me. All I want to do is get a can for my M&P(It's got a threaded barrel, and I'm sick of seeing it ).
I'm in the baby steps here, but it would be nice to have ALL OF THE CORRECT INFO in one spot. And I'm talking STEP BY STEP. Pretend your talking to the slow kid at the back of the class. |

Its preferred to use the ATF supplied fingerprint cards .. however the cards from your local sheriff's office WILL work.
I talked with my examiner on my last NFA transaction and she told me that while they have a different ORI code on the cards it DOES NOT matter because they have to manually submit the print cards and that they WILL make sure the return from the FBI goes back to them for processing rather than a sheriff's office in any town, MO. I was a little leary about it .. but my stamp came back right on time ..
