For you meat eaters, they have a "special" for 30.00/person (normally 42.00/person) for the next few weeks. The wife and I went last night and definately ate our $ worth. Not somewhere I'd go all the time, but with 12? kinds of meat and all of it delivered to your table w/in 30 seconds, it was a hell of a way to try all kinds of different stuff (filet mignon, lamb, parmisian pork, beef ribs, pork ribs, top sirloin, bottom sirloin, etc. They also had a bacon "pile" (that's really the best way to describe it) on their salad bar..

We have a place here West of St. Louis in Cheterfield Valley called Baccana of Brazil, same concept I think.... They guys that bring the meat out don't speak english, so they give you a card that has a Bright Green Buffalo on one side and a Bright Red one on the other to signal go and Stop... You will leave there so full, yo will not want to see anyfood for about 3 days... |

Tried a new Chinese Buffet in Independence (by Harbor Freight) on Saturday, Ma Ma Buffet. I give it a 9/10, as Chinese buffets go. Here's the highlights: "Sushi", lots of varieties. Yes I know Sushi isn't Chinese, but they don't. Nice salad bar Nice fresh fruit bar Plenty of entree choices. BACON! They had BACON! It was wrapped around little chunks of chicken, but it was still BACON! I had several servings of this tasty item.  Chinese "donuts"! I LOVES me some Chinese donuts!  Good dessert bar including several varieties of ice cream, hard pack in tubs, not just flavorless off-color soft serve. Lunch buffet price $7.50 including drink until 1600 hours, except on Sundays. Dinner & Sunday buffets are $10. Lowlights: Hard time spotting the plain white steamed rice pot, I had to ask my hetero life mate for help. "Fresh" cooked salmon next to the hot dessert pies made them somewhat less appealing.  Aggressive wait staff with regards to pointing out that you did not (yet, in my case) leave a tip.  No Happy Ending. Had the gal been just a tiny bit more aggressive in her tip reminder, there would not have been a happy ending for her either. Smullen says I forgot something, and I did. They have this too! "What about BBQ, or Mongolian BBQ... Where you toss a ton of Paper thin Beef, Chicken, Pork, Shrip, Octopi, Bean Sprouts, Pinapple, Brockley, etc... etc... in a Big bowl, slather on your concoction of Sauces, Oils and Spices and they grill it up and hand it aback in a fresh bowl...." |
