Quoted: Pulaski county republican committee needs info on how to create a website. How do we get one started and what costs are involved. Any info would help. Thanks - respectfully Dan Couple steps 1st think of a domain name... You want to keep it as short, simple memorable as possible... 2nd get that domain registered 3rd find a hosting company I've used and recommended a company called http://www.1and1.com for a long time when I had needs/wants for a webpage... You can get a package for starting at 4.99 a month depending on your requirements (Email accounts, storage, traffic needed) Its really easy... Then you just need to decide what you want on it and put it up.... There are many HTML writing packages out there from free, cheap to expensive... I myself prefer notepad, but I'm no professional and I can only do really basic static stuff... You may want to hire someone to whip you up something real quick, but the sucky thing about that is you have to call/pay them anytime you want something changed or updated... That 1and1.com place has some pretty neat tool you get access too also... Like I said I'm no expert, but let me know if you have any questions; I may be able to help... I've played around a bit with websites of my own and for a Custom Truck Club I was VP of for a few years... |

For my wife's business, I used http://www.asmallorange.com for hosting. It's super cheap and has good resources. $25/yr hosting + $10/yr for the domain. Plus I used a coupon code and got another $5 off.
Then I used Google Sites to build the site......that's free and easy to use. |

Thanks for that information. I believe I have a good idea on where to begin.
Background on this is that at my kid's TARS meeting (Teen Age Republican) A representative from Pulaski County was asking for help to get a web site and face book going. The TARS kinds have a few kids and adults working on the project and needed a place to start. Your prompt information was very influential in deciding to proceed. On behalf of the group, we thank you. |
