How fast do you think I could sell a 4" xd40 if I wanted less than $450 for it? It's only a few months old and has ,a few hundred rounds through it.

The Springfield XDs on Midwest Gun Trader seem to sell pretty quickly at $400 and $425; not so much at $450 and higher.

I'm picking up a slightly-used one today for $400.00 and it includes 5 magazines.

I bought mine a couple of years ago used for $400. It came with two magazines and a holster as some kind of set in a plastic carrying case.
