My brother did pretty good for his birthday.  His wife surprised him with the HK P30 .40 S&W and my dad got him the Hi-Point C9  No middle ground here.

You're right, the Hi-Point has an unconditional lifetime warranty.

I like free guns (even though I didn't get any)  The Hi-Point was very top heavy; was the first time I handled one.

Don't highpoints tend to go off by themselves?

Highpoint may not be as sexy as HK but.....yeah thats all I got. I'm sure they'll both be fun.

Well he could sell the Hi-Point to buy ammo for the HK!

Or shoot the Hi-Point. When some body comes by, pick up the HK, wipe it down with a silk clothe, and act snootily...

That's because they are straight blow-back and need the additional slide weight to slow down the opening of the breech.  Pick up the .45 version and it's even more worser.

He could always trade in both pistols and get a couple of nice reliable Glocks with some change to spare.

If by "go off" you mean fly apart in multiple simultaneous directions, then yes.

A couple of years ago I was all set to buy one of the .45 versions as a cheap car gun.  Then I read a thread (on Arfcom IIRC) where someone posted "ZOMG!  I was just at the range and a guy's .45 HiPoint blowed the F up!"  I decided I was not that cheap after all and did not buy that pistol.
