Saw someone elses post that mentioned this, so I looked it up... HB 594 –– Weapons and Firearms Sponsor: Richardson This bill changes the laws regarding the possession, manufacture, transport, repair, or sale of weapons. In its main provisions, the bill: (1) Allows a person to possess, manufacture, transport, repair, or sell a machine gun, short barreled rifle or shotgun, or firearm silencer ––––- if he or she conforms with federal law; (2) Specifies that a person will not commit a crime if he or she possesses, manufactures, transports, repairs, or sells an explosive weapon; explosive, incendiary, or poisonous substance or material; a gas gun; a switchblade knife; certain explosive bullets; or knuckles if he or she conforms with federal law; and (3) Specifies that a person who possesses, manufactures, transports, repairs, or sells a machine gun, short barreled rifle or shotgun, or firearm silencer in violation of federal law will be guilty of a class C felony. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~` So what does this mean for us??? We can already do the above in bold if we conform with federal law, get the C&R, then go Form1 or Form 4 and get a 200.00 Tax Stamp... So what would really be different? |

Quoted: There is still the lengthy ATF approval process to suffer.Quoted: It looks to me that it removes the state requirement of having some form of FFL such as a C&R to own NFA. So we could just purchase NFA items (SBR, Suppressors, etc...) like a regular firearm via 4473??? If so that would be sweet.... |

But you would still need to fill out the Form 1 or 4, pay the $200, and wait it out. You can track it here: http://www.house.mo.gov/billsummary.aspx?bill=HB594&year=2011&code=R |
