| What a waste of money and time. Went to the gunshow at the expo center today in Springfield. Eight dollars to get in and see what (charitably) could be rated as 20 percent guns and 80 percent junk/military surplus... I wish I could have seen the interior of the show thru a door or something before I paid. Dont waste your time folks. I wont go to any of that promoters shows again... |

I think that you can get a 7.62x39 Bushy upper straight from the factory for $509 new in box, and that's retail. If you happen to have a friend with an FFL you can probably beat the gunshow price by around $40 or so.
I think that gunshows are a 1980s business model that makes little sense for buyers or sellers in the 21st century, and are largely filled with men who secretly wish that they could turn back the clock to '83 again. I think a 7.62839 AR combines the terminal ballistics and recoil of an obselete intermediate cartridge with the reliability issues of aftermarket mags that don't interface with the guns mag well properly and the small Stoner extractor design forced to extract a large rimmed steel casing. For a price about on par with an Arsenal or converted Saiga AK. But other than that, go for it. Call Bushy and see of they have spare extractors. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

7.62x39 isn't too bad in the AR. I think the newest incarnation of the CProd mags really work. M4 feed ramps and a middy gas system are pretty mandatory. Honestly, don't waste your money on the Bushy and go straight to the source. http://www.ar15performance.com/inc/sdetail/1672 |
| My motto is that if there ain't nobody standing around. Walking or talking outside that doesn't have a rifle pistol pocket knife anything that might offend a politican. I'm going back home without stopping. Drove by about three on Saturday. Homeless guy having a smoke. I didn't stop. |

I stopped by the Ashland show yesterday. Not much going on, but there was one guy selling 500 round cases of Korean 7.62 NATO for $125 each. Someone got a deal. The Ashland show is always very small but you can find some decent deals there if you look around. The best part it's only 2 bucks to get in. |
