Hey guys,

Recently got a call to come in for testing for Raymore PD, and was just wondering if there was anything about them I should know, or the city in general?  Good or Bad?  This first section is for the written testing, so we will see.

Advice, etc?
Thanks

No firsthand knowledge of the dept itself but I've worked with their "recruits" attending the KC regional academy. I don't hear a lot about Raymore itself such as crime waves, etc. If it gets  your foot in the door so you can start some networking, go for it and not worry about it. Later down the road, the experience you get there may help you get hired somewhere else if you should choose to leave.

Good luck on the testing!

They seem to have a very high turn over rate....

My only advise would be this: Be sure you WANT to work a small city with little crime. It will be SLOW. If you are thinking about car chases/foot chases/guns/dope.... etc etc. It just wont happen that often. If you want all that go apply at KC/Independence and work the inner city.

Its not that is bad..... just make sure its what you want.

I have a buddy that retired from there. Never heard him complain, of course YMMV!!!!
