| Does anyone know of a training facility/range between Springfield and Clinton? I know there are a few public ranges around springfield, and one in Clinton, but they don't allow, or discourage any defensive handgun practice. I'm starting to think someone should build a nice indoor facility for hangun training in the area. Maybe around Bolivar. Thats a nice midway point. |

if you wanna float me the loan to build one i'd be happy too!
We are giving some serious thought to something like that. I'm just afraid it wouldn't take off. doubt we could keep a steady stream of people that would drive 100 miles just to do some defensive/tactical shooting. |

There's one up at Stockton.

I appreciate the response but I probably wasn't as clear as I should have been in my original post. What I'm getting at is, people pay a lot of money for traning. So after you pay $300 for a defensive pistol course you go home, and then what? Other than maybe drawing with an air-soft, most people won't practice. Certainly they go to the range, and they load up, and shoot maybe 100 rounds at a target 10 or 20 yards away, with careful aim, and controleld fire. Hell you're not even supposed to use a b-27 target at a public range. So how does the general public who lives in suburbia practice the defensive handgun lessons they learned in their expensive traning? Something like a place you would practice for an IDPA match would be good. Even if you had no desire to compete in competition you could put all that training you paid for to good use. |
