Sorry to see it, I thought they could beat the Dodgers for sure.  Heard on the radio today someone said they were playing like the Cubs, how true that turned out to be.  Once again the big bats didn't produce much.  We will just have to look forward to next year.

At least they didn't play like the Royals.

Pujols will be gone from STL in 2 years. He wants to win championships and STL isn't going to give it to him. La Russa isn't a good manager. He might have won a log of games but when it comes down to it, he isn't a good big game manager.

The cards play in a weak division with the Cubs being the biggest competition. They get to play the Reds, Pirates, and Brewers many times a year.

What do you think Pujos could get on the open market?

Or I guess the correct question would be, what do you think the Yankees would pay for him...?

This kind of upset me. Not because I'm a baseball fan, but rather because my grandpa was. He was a rabid Cards fan and he died on September the 4th. I was hoping the Cards would go all the way kind of as a fitting memorial to him. Then again perhaps it's all for the best as I'm not sure he would have wanted to see them choke.

Pujols could get whatever he wanted. The Cards did well this year by giving him Matt Holiday and those other trade deadline players. But it isn't enough.

Pujols could command top 2 or 3 player money, if not the top paid player in the game.  I don't see STL being top of his list either.  NY Yankees, Red Soxs, or Dodgers all would pay him a huge amount to play.
