So I shot a LCR at show-me shooters yesterday and have owned and shot an LCP before.

However due to recent sales, etc I now have neither and am looking to get one or the other as a BUG.

What are your thoughts on which you would get, and why.

LCR has 5 shot capacity, and slightly larger.
LCP has 6+1 and smaller.
LCR is 38+P
LCP is 380.

I like the LCP.  It's much slimmer and lighter.  Put a Hogue Handall Jr on it.  If it's just a bug, I wouldn't worry about the diff between .38+P and .380.

I had a 642 which is slightly heavier than the LCR, but I didn't like how wide it was.  If I ever got another small revolver, it would be a S&W 340.  Titanium and .357 Mag.  But for something that size/weight, I just carry my Kahr PM9.

You need to check the two new Taurus guns......the 709 Slim and the 738 (their answer to the LCP.)  Both very nice guns––I got the first 709 off GunBroker, but I don't like it as much as the PM9.  Both will be available in Titanium later on.  BTW, some of the pictures of the 709 on Taurus's website are the prototype.......it looks more like the Mill Pro now, not the sleek prototype shown.

I have an LCP and I hope to get an LCR some day, but for carrying I prefer pistols over revolvers.

I'd take 5 rounds of +P 158gn LSWCHP over 7 rounds of overgrown .25ACP everyday.

I carry an LCP everyday as my primary for summer. Nice pistol.

I've handled one LCR that locks up tight.  The three or four others were just okay, barely.  All of the revolvers had way too much slop in the lug where the cylinder pin passes through the crane.

Metal >> Plastic, in any case.

I carry the LCP on occasion. As soon as the pro deal comes through on the LCR I will start carrying it.

The LCP is a great pistol, but I have maybe 25 rds of ammo for it now so it doesn't get shot.

Ruger LCP is a great pocket gun to carry.

I had a S&W 642, but it was too wide. Autoloaders are nice and slim. It's all up to you, what you're comfortable with and how you plan to carry it, but I'd recommend the LCP for CCW over the LCR.
