"The White House is vowing more enforcement of gun laws. But it is not pursuing a promise Obama made as a candidate: a ban on assault-style weapons.
That ban on military-style guns became law during the Clinton administration in 1994 but expired under the Bush administration in 2004. When Attorney General Eric Holder raised the idea of reinstituting the ban this year, opposition from Democrats and Republicans emerged quickly. 'Other priorities' Reopening the debate on gun rights is apparently a fight the White House does not want to take on right now. "I think that there are other priorities that the president has," Gibbs said this week. Mexican leaders, though, say the ban saved lives. "I think it was very good legislation," Calderon told ABC News the day before Obama's arrival. The death toll is spiraling throughout Mexico as a war between the country's government and the drug cartels intensifies. " Just send our military in and take the FRIKKEN "country", it would take all of 12 seconds! We need to CLOSE the damn border! PursuitSS |

I cannot believe I am going to say this but, FINALLY.
We as gun owners should all agree that we don't need MORE gun laws, the govenment just needs to enforce the existing laws. I think they will find that after enforcing the laws for a while they will be able to relax on alot of laws and regs. |

Confronting a Mexican drug war that is "sowing chaos in our communities," President Barack Obama signaled Thursday he will not seek renewal of a U.S. assault weapons ban but instead will step up enforcement of laws banning the transfer of such guns across the border.
President Obama has surprised me a couple of times. Allowing the military commander on the scene to make judgment calls that lead to the bitter end for three pirates and now this statement. While he is at the enforcement of laws banning the transfer of such guns across the border, enforce the laws banning the transfer of undocumented people across the border into this country. And while he is on a roll, stop giving away my tax dollars in these dumb@ss bailouts.

Simple fix to the problem...
1) Search everything going across the border both directions at controled check points with barriers capable of stopping any vehicle
2) 15-18' electric fences (like those around prisons) and guards in shooting towers every 200 yards.
Problem solved and border very secured...

| The complete inability for the media to both fail to do research and/or push their agenda is mind-blowing, not to mention the mindless complaining of the politicians south of "El Norte." If you do any research on the more prolific gangs warring on the border, you'll find that most if not all have deep ties in Central America. That is where the guns are coming from! Actually let me correct that, the guns are coming from the United States, but they are in the form of donations to the Governments where these gang-bangers are coming from. They have all the rifles, frags, ammo and gear they need. Stupid but related fact. If you want to buy drugs from MS13 you can pay for them with handguns. I guess the US Government didn't give the Banana Republics enough pistols for these guys and there's a shortage. It's rather absurd, the US government indirectly gave guns to gang members and may decide the only way to solve the problem is to ban the ownership of like weapons by law-abiding citizens. |

Had anyone even heard of this so-called "problem" before Obama took office? I have a feeling that there is a deep dark agenda behind this whole affair. The Mexicans have been killing each other for years. Why should the U.S. give a rat's ass about it now? Or at all? Hell there are even videos online of Mexican military Hum-Vees escorting drug shipments across the border INTO the U.S.
I am with most of you. If it is such a problem, CLOSE THE BORDER!!! And maybe pay a little more attention to the drug/gang problem here in our own country! |

1) The worlds largest arms dealer was busted selling to the Mexican Cartels.
2) Most Mexican Army Deserters steal their weapons and join Cartels. 3) Most American origins full autos were stolen from the Mexican Army. 4) Mexican Cartels don't want to pay American prices for semi autos. 5) Most weapons seized don't even have serial numbers that trace back to the US. As far as I know the above is 100% true. After taking this into consideration I can not believe the 9 out of 10 guns in cartel hands are smuggled in from America. |
