Went out looking for another Glock 19 (passed an OD frame up two weeks ago and keep kicking myself for it) and at one of the stores an older, well-dressed gentleman comes in and looks around.
Clerk: Can I help you? Older Gent: Do you carry HK's? They had an HK45 over the weekend so I looked in the case to see if they still had it. Clerk: Handgun or rifle? Older Gent: Rifle. At this point the clerk points to the wall where there is an SL8 conversion and two UMP styles on the wall. Each has the bright red HK on the stock. Older Gent: Are either of those a 416? Clerk: No, sorry. Older Gent: Can you get a 416 and how much would one cost? My question is who are these people who have no clue what they are looking to buy. There were a handful of ARs on the wall to include an LWRC and rifles clearly marked as HK. All he knew was that he wanted an HK416, who could be bothered with knowing what it actually looked like. First time I've ever seen a buyer not know what they were attempting to buy. |

must have watched High Impact: M-16 on the history channel on friday, they showed all the in the sand, mud and water gimicks (closed dust covers ) with the 416No...His son watched that and then recommended the HK 416. to the older gentleman. See I thought maybe he was looking for someone else but even then what good would it do. The salesman could have pointed to one of the HKs and said 'yep right here' and the guy wouldn't have had a clue. |
