Just looking for suggestions for hearing protection.  I shoot mostly at a local indoor range using the blue Peltor Bulls Eye 9 muffs and they work fine, but I figured i would check and see if anyone had suggestions for other hearing protecting that muffles sound more, etc.

Thanks for your thoughts.

I have a pair of Peltor Comtacs and a Pair of Peltor Tactical 6s both work pretty well and are electronic, so you can hear better normally and it still cuts off the loud impulses of gunfire. I also have two pairs of the Custom Molded Ear Pro, one totally occlusive and one with filters, not totally occlusive, They are phenominal, also you can't really go wrong with the Foamies...

I wear ear plugs under the muffs.  A lot cheaper than shopping around for some better muffs.

Order of preference:

Surefire can

Surefire sonic defenders

Peltor Com tacs

Often times it's a combo of the above depending on when/where I'm shooting.

I'd suggest a set of surefire plugs and muffs for indoor shooting.

If it's going to be really loud I wear my Peltor electronic muffs, and crank them all the way up so I can hear through the foam plugs.

Same thing here only I use the quad game ears.  I bought them a few years back in case I had to make a shot while in the field deer hunting with my weatherby .30-378.  That gun is a freak as far as noise goes with the brake on.  I shot it once to this day without ear protection with the brake on just to see if I could do it in the field.....lets say it would take a 200+ B&C before I would think about doing it again.  I honestly believe to this day I have suffered some hearing loss in my left ear due to my stupidity that day.

Bottom line:  ALWAYS WEAR HEARING PROTECTION
