A buddy at work brought a pistol in for me to get a value on. It is a WWII P38 bringback. The story is the guy has a female friend whose dad brought this back from WWII. There are no import marks on it. On the left side (as your looking at the back of the gun) is "P38", the SN "7***", and "AC44".Everything has the same SN except the barrel. On the right side is the swastika under the eagle. It also has two marks on either side of the swastika. It looks like three lines with the number "359" underneath it. The grips are black plastic with a lanyard loop on the left side. It has two magazines, one of which has the number "5706F" on it. This pistol is in about 90% shape as far as the finish. It also has a flap holster that holds the extra mag. The back of the holster has the swastika under the eagle with a number underneath it. Next to that is what looks like a leaf with a "9" in the middle and the numbers 1943 at the bottom of the leaf. Any idea as to the rarity and or value on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

A good P38 forum here. There are some really good and helpful P38 collectors there.

IIRC AC is the Walther factory code at Suhl, the year is correct the markings sound genuine, bbls were often swapped in armory so the non number match there is about right, overall it sounds like a nice common P38, with holster and orig mags it may be worth in the 5-600 range....btw Chad how did u fix your avatar?...lol
