Check this out. Looks like a great STL area BOL. If I could afford that I would buy it in a second.

Think of all the ammunition and food you could hoard there... And the defense against zombies... Perfect!

Take a good look at all the pics.  There appears to be a rather long tunnel that'd make a dandy indoor shooting range.

Sure, you'll need to use more lights than the average home since the ambient light can only enter the cave house from one direction.  But at least your heating bill will be low if you can stand ~62 degree year-round cave temps.  Gonna need a helluva large dehumidifier though as caves tend to be damp.  And it might be a bit unnerving thinking about cave-ins while trying to fall asleep each night.

But it's high on the cool factor!

Missouri caver here.  I have heard about this home a few years ago.  If its the one I was told about, the owners have had problems with dripping ceilings and have tried sealing it with epoxy resins, but the problem persists.  If you have been in caves in Missouri, you have noticed that they drip a lot and are very damp with high humidity.  And they are about 56 degrees year round, so you would have to heat it to make it comfortable.

ETA;  Eric, these caves have been here for a long, long time.  Cave ins don't happen in caves very often (rarely).  Old mines however are not safe.
