So today I sold off a couple guns in my collection. I bought these months ago (one about a year ago) and just decided that I didn't want them any more, and I would rather clear out some debt and just keep the few guns I REALLY want to keep and love. So I did FTF with all MO residents, and made up bill of sale, checked ID's etc. The bill of sales all have the weapon s/n's on them as well as the names and addresses of those folks.
Now that I have that info, other than putting it all in my safe what else do I do with it? Do I notify anyone that these weapons have been transferred? Thanks in advance for the help. |
| That's what I figured. I knew there was no gun registry, just got to thinking if the ATF or whatever needed to be notified of the change in case something ever happens with the weapon and they trace it back to me. Sorry if this all sounds dumb, but I've never done this before. Thanks |

Recent turn of events are disturbing.
New gun owners that don't understand their rights. Long time gun owners that take turn firearms in to the nearest police station. Inviting the government into their lives. Failing to understand, let alone cling to Liberty first. Here's something else to mull over; a more prudent approach is to determine the correct path before making the sale! |

What is this sell thing that you speak of? I try to never sell out of desperation. However I am offering up for sale or trade a rifle for which I have no particular love or feelings, so I can then acquire another one that I really really really really really really really really really want. |

The only guns that are off the books are the ones purchased before any gun registration laws. If you buy a registered gun from me, then when they come to me looking for a particular gun, I will have to point them at you. If there is no paperwork, which means gun was never in the system, then you truely have an off the reserve gun. Many rifles are off the system.

Shoot, if I kept detailed records of every gun I've ever bought and/or sold, I'd be depressed at the stuff I should have kept. |

so .. whatcha got and what do ya want?! Yea man, gotta give us first shot here! I'll buy just about anything if I can get it FTF and off the 'books'. I did post it here in the MO EE, back on page 47, before I posted it out in the open. You guys gotta pay closer attention. It's an AR, of course. WTS ad WTT ad What I really want in trade is a nice M1 Garand, or a semi-auto Tommy Gun. By "nice M1 Garand" I mean better than CMP Service Grade. What I really really really really really really really really really really really really really a ton want is a Super Premium Grade rebuilt M1 from The Garand Guy. Sure, it won't be "authentic" like Al & Jesse, but it will be as close to a newly issued rifle as I can get. |

The only registered gun you could sell In Mo. would be a NFA weapon, because the is NO place in missouri to take a title 1 firearm TO register It. True that If you were on the last 4473 then you would be the last owner of record, but that Isn't a registration. And the 4473s stay with the ffl. until which time he/she gives the ffl up. The bills of sale are a good Idea as they will prove at a future date that buyer as well as seller conducted the transaction in good faith. If nothing ever happens there is no reason whatsoever that anyone aside from the principle parties should be, or be made privy to the deal. IMO
