Does anyone near STL have one?  I'd like to shoot one and handle one before I start saving the astronomical amt. that they cost.  I really wanna find a carry gun that I like.  I just can't find one I'm happy with.  The closest I've had that I was happy with was a P32.  Had a PF9 and I didn't like it much so down the road it went.  I have a 3" and a 4" XD9, but they are too thick for warm weather carry under a light shirt.

Have you tried any of the Kahr pistols yet?  How about a S&W 3900 series 9mm?

I'm not a 1911 guy as you can tell from my ID.

A friend of mine has an EMP 9, I've shot it several times and absolutely LOVE it.  It will be my next handgun purchase.

The EMP is dang nice, but I've been completely happy with my Kahr P40 as a carry pistol.  Worth checking out.

I've also been looking at the Para LDA.  I would like to shoot a Kahr, I've heard both good and bad about them.

A guy at the Crossfire range in the lane next to me several months ago had one, it looked good.  I checked out the Kahr (whatever the "smallest" model they have is in 9mm) awhile back, and it couldn't have been much bigger than a Kel Tec PF9/P11.  Looked nice.

I've had the CW9 and CW40 and currently have the PM9 and have had a Para P12.45 and currently have a Para C6.45 LDA.  None of them ever gave me a problem, with the exeption of having to tweak the extractor on the P12 but that took all of 5 minutes.  After that I've never had any failures of any kind with any of these pistols.  A lot of Kahrs problems were with their PM series early in their release.  From everything I've found they've remedied the problems.  My PM9 is absolutely reliable.

For my needs the Kahr wins every time.  It's much ligher and actually a little thinner than the C6 (LDA 1911).  I can pocket carry it with out any issues.  The Para, or any of the compact 1911's are going to have to be carried in a holster unless you're a pretty big guy.  Once you load them they can get heavy pretty quickly.  If I put the C6 in a hip or IWB holster it really carries pretty nicely, but I could never pocket carry it.

The other option I have been really leaning towards is possibly an SP101 in .357.  But I hate that style sight and the only small revolver I could find like it with better sights was a high end smith.  The thing I am not sure about the smith is it is 7 shots instead of 5.  I don't know how much of an issue that will present with summer pocket carry.  Although an SP101 with Crimson Trace grips could be the ticket, I am just so unsure what I want right now and I don't have the funding to buy 3 or 4 guns then sell the ones i don't want.

The SP-101 is nice ––- compact enough, but a bit on the heavy side.  My Kahr P40 is something like 17 ounces unloaded (if I remember correctly) and my SP-101 with 2-1/4" barrel is 25 ounces unloaded.  One-half pound of extra weight doesn't sound like much, but you WILL most likely notice it.

The S&W 5-shot revolvers are J-frames ––- compact guns like the Ruger SP-101.  A 7-shot S&W is built on a larger frame (pretty sure they are all L-frames) and the cylinder is also bigger in diameter that the 5-shot ––- not all that compact.
