I was wondering if anyone had a link for a webpage that has the acceptable ways to permanently attach a brake to make a barrel longer than 16in.  I have halfass looked around the site but I can't seem to find anything.

I don't have a link but the spec is

Blind Pinning, with the pin hole welded over.

Four equal distant fusion welded tacks around the circumference of the device.

Silver Solder with a high melting point actual temperature I do not recall.

The measurement should be made with a rod down the barrel with the bolt closed so you are measuring from the bolt face to the end of the barrel.

Thanks for you input.  The reason for wanting the link is because a friend wanted to use a spike's tactical fake suppressor to make his barrel 16in and didn't want to have to pin it.  I thought that you could solder it but wasn't sure of the specs.  Now all I need is the melting point temp......anyone by chance know that?

Remember most Fake suppressors are Aluminum and you won't be able to Silver Solder aluminum at all, Also you can't fusion weld aluminum to steel, I usually drill and tap a hole in the fake can and make a pin from a set screw install that below the surface of the Fake Can then TIG aluminum into the hole on top for a virtually invisible but very solid pinning.

I actually didn't know that you couldn't solder aluminum.  The reason he was looking for a way to do it without pinning because we don't have access to a tig welder.  Guess he will just have to breakdown and pay for someone to do it right.

Also keep in mind that most people like to actually go 16.125" - 16.25" for a little "cushion" so to speak......
