I was just going to add these pics to my 3-gun thread, but figured shotguns are cool enough to warrant their own thread!

Anyway, here's my old Mossberg 500AT with some new upgrades.  I replaced the folding wire-stock Knoxx Copstock I had on it with a Speedfeed III Pistol Grip.  Better Cheek weld for aiming, and I was worried that the Knoxx would put me in Open class for 3-gun stuff.  Plus, it holds 4 shells, 2 on each side.  Great for those surprise slugs on some stages, or just to have a few more rounds on the gun.  I also put a SideSaddle on the gun, mainly cause I've always wanted one, and 3-gun can get crazy with the round counts sometimes.  So, 17+1 rounds on the gun...heh.  Bring on those pepper-popper fields!!!

This gun is one of my Home Defense weapons, hence the Streamlight M3 light.  Boy, I thought she was un-PC before!

Man that's certainly a long gun.  Have you tried "clearing exercises" in your house with that shotty yet?  It might be eye-opening as to how unwieldly such long guns usually are in the confines of a typical home environment.

Now, who's got a 12ga double-barrel Coach Gun for sale cheaply?

Here is my ONLY shotgun at this time, a Sage International Sidewinder. They built these off of Remington 1100's, obviously the action design is highly modified.

I recently worked over my 11-87 for use in 3-gun. It is now, the anti-shorty. Here's a quick and bad shot of my 11-87 sitting over my Persuader 20.5" Mossberg 500 for comparison.

I wish tromix was taking conversions still...anybody else out there do them?  I have a s12 w/ a 24" barrel I'd like to do something with.  Not sure if I want to pay the $200 to SBS it, but definately want the barrel cut down a bit and converted.

The problem is/was John Klein of Sage International NEVER wanted to sell these to "Joe Civilian". When I purchased mine around 15 years ago he informed me that "Ninety five percent of my business is with three letter government agencies". I was a Class III dealer at the time and also was the Chief of Police of a small dept. IF I had tried to state it was for personal use I really don't think he would have sold it to me.

Regardless it's a moot point now, Sage no longer does the Sidewinder conversion except on a request from a Federal Agency.

In my personal opinion the Saiga 12 ga. conversions have made it obsolete anyway.

Case in point..........the fine looking example posted by V188:

That Sidewinder sure is interesting, very neat gunsmithing to put a traditional semi in such a short package.  I would think a super short pump would be SO much simpler to accomplish, which is why your gun is so neat!

Well, that's why I had the folding stock on it originally.  Now that it is longer, it is more for the 'Alamo Defense', ie hole up in the bedroom and repel boarders while calling 911.  Handgun would be if I needed to go room to room.  Which I don't need to do, since it's just me and the dog.    But you're right.  I will need to do some practicing with this in its new configuration!

Some awesome shotguns in here guys!

They guy that built the AK/Saiga said its a refinished Romanian stock with a modified lower handguard. He took one of the pistol grip handguards and cut off the pistol grip and used the cutoff section to fabricate the side "swells" and glued them on,

I agree that he did a NICE job! The damn thing looks like either a Russian or Chinese AK-47 at first glance.

Here is a link to the guy who offers the conversion parts to create an AK-47 12 ga.

I can't believe how much the S12's have risen in price.  I bought mine last summer lightly used for $325 shipped.  Now they're going on Gunbroker for two or three times that  Wish I woulda bought a couple more.

O.K. I just got off the phone from the importer (Russian American Armory) they have a shipment of 800 12 ga Saiga's due in next month. They stated after that shipment there will be a steady flow coming. Yes the price is up SOME (around 10%+ from three months ago), keep in mind the U.S. Dollar keeps falling.

I bet that 800 won't even come close to covering back orders though

I'd probably buy another if that's the case.  Alot of people fear these being banned, I think that's driving the price up a lot.

Got a 20 rd drum coming for mine

I have a Mossberg 5500 set up for the same thing.  Kept the 26" barrel & added a Choate 10 shot extension (9+1).  It's probably the last gun in the collection I'd use for house clearing.... I'd use the M91-30 Mosin ahead of it.  The 91-30 is longer but at least it makes a good club & has a 16"+ bayonet for extra stabby goodness.

The room to room shotgun is an old beater Savage/Stevens 311 coach gun (~18.25-18.5").  If I ever decide to do the NFA thing it'd get even shorter.

I sold my First Tromix Saiga 12 shown below back in January.

I only sold it since I had another Tromix S17 coming in with a few new options: Dog Leg mag release, Dog Leg Galil Charging Handle, Short pull/reset trigger, light rail, XS Night Sights.  It finally came in around a month ago and I put a couple mags through it so far.  Here are a couple pictures.

Here is a picture of my 14" Benelli Entry Shotgun that I used in matches before I picked up the Saiga 12.  The 5 rnd tube sure kills your time.  It is nice to have 10 rnd mags and 20 rnd drums now with the Saiga.
