Hey Guys & Gals,

I am looking for a place for rental handguns to help with next purchase decision making. I have been using Sho-Me Shooters in Claycomo, but the majority of their rentals appear to be glock, with an revolver or two and a xd.  I would like to try a some sig arms guns too before deciding.

The only other place I found listed is in St. Louis, which is about a 4 hour drive 1-way for me.  I like in the KC north area, and am willing to cross the state line to Kansas if there are any close by as well.

Any ideas, suggestions, etc?

Thanks

Try Pistols Plus at Lake Of The Ozarks. I dont know if they still do, but at one time they had a big ole safe full of rentail pistols.

The Bullet Hole has glocks, sigs, and M&Ps for rent.

What are you looking to try out?  Chances are somebody in the Kansas City crew has an example of something you are wanting to try out, maybe you can join them at a local shooting range.  We're a pretty nice crew that way.  The only way to find out what you like is to try it, after all.

What do you want to shoot?  It might be time for another ARFCOM shoot, try all you want.

And Kimbers, Beretta's, CZ's Ruger and S&W revolvers, too.  The Hole is probably the best place to go for renting guns.  $5 per gun, and of course you have to buy ammo there for them.

Can anybody CONFIRM that Bullet Hole still rents pistols out???? Last I heard was that somebody killed themselves there and that they stopped renting out pistols. somebody told me this probably 2 years ago.

They've had a couple of suicides there but last time I was there I'm pretty sure they still had range rentals.

Anyway, I like the "tell us what you want to try" idea even better but capt512 hasn't responded.

Not only that, but they got back the pistols used in those crimes.  I, of course, being the caring individual that I am, asked if they were going to "notch the stocks" on those pistols.    They did laugh.

Yeah.  Happens more than once too.  Those of us that know will spare telling you which lanes.  It's kind of creepy when you know it....

Doesn't bother me, I don't mind shooting at Civil war or Revolutionary war battlefields either.

I guess I'm kinda weird that way too.  When I was interning at the capitol building in Jefferson City some of the interns went on a tour of the supermax prison there.  It was really interesting and educational.  Anyway, they took us to see "old sparky", the electric chair that was used to execute prisoners on death row in years past, and I promptly plopped right down in it.  People looked at me with shocked expressions on their faces, and I was just like "What?  What?  You've never been curious to know what the view is like from here?"

Considering most Revolutionary and Civil War battlefields are historic sites, and usually crawling with tourists, I find it interesting that you shoot there....unless you're a re-enactor....
