Looking to pick up a FNP9 from a board member. ARs4EVER When I went to look at his feedback he has a +21 and then a -1. The -1 thread is archived and I'd like to read it. If anyone wants to help me out, I would really appreciate it. *If this is against the rules, I apologize, just let me know.* Thanks. |

Bronze Contributor Joined :: October 2002 Post Number :: 312 AZ, USA I spoke with ARs4EVER on the telephone this afternoon. He has no mags in his possession, and is waiting on a shipment to arrive at his supplier ... arriving - MAYBE - this coming Monday 3/14/05 (according to him, said shipment could also include some FN Five-Seven pistols). However, he has no assurances from his supplier that anything will actually be delivered - there is no schedule of items whatsoever, nor a firm delivery date. It seems that we have all been victimized by supply-chain uncertainties, and ARs4EVER has decided just to wait until merchandise arrives rather than to communicate to us (or at least to me) the true state of affairs. I still can't fathom why he chose to keep us in the dark though... that's just poor form. If anyone wants further details, IM or email me. If you think education is expensive, try ignorance. Posted :: 3/12/2005 8:40:56 AM CST Tom32 Team Member Gold Contributor Joined :: November 2000 Post Number :: 232 NE, USA I sent ARS4EVER a money order in the amount of $85 for the purchase of two magazines in February. He sent me an email Saturday telling me about an order that didn't come through and also telling me a refund was on the way. In the mail today was a money order from him for more than I sent him. I would have been happy with what I sent him and don't think the extra was necessary but I admire his integrity in making this right. Bottom line is I would not hesitate in dealing with him in the future and I wish him better luck with his distributor. Bronze Contributor Joined :: October 2002 Post Number :: 315 AZ, USA I, too, asked for a refund when I last discussed things with ARs4EVER on 3/9/05. I also recently received a refund check for the full amount, plus "extra" - even though I repeatedly tried to dissuade him from throwing in this "extra" amount, as I am not entitled to anything more than just my money back. ARs4EVER and I talked about other, shooting-related subjects during our conversation and I got the distinct impression that he felt badly about not being able to deliver the merchandise for which he had already accepted payment (hence, the "extra" amount included with the refund check). I appreciate the fact that he attempted to bring good deals to the EE, and I told him that I would like to complete this purchase transaction with him ... but only when he actually has the merchandise in his possession. In my book, an apology would be worth more in regard to salvaging his reputation than the "extra" amount thrown in on the refund check. One's reputation isn't "bought" ... it's earned. One of the major problems on the "NET" & just not here is, many are quick to take funds for said item, knowing they do not have it "IN HAND" & have bad communications skiills to said fact. Just glad you all received a full refund with a "extra" for your time. Guess it's a lesson learned for all, including this seller. If you're going too sell, have the product "IN HAND" & communicate every day! Many have excuses, some true, most false IMO. Gotta be safe, period. Nuff said. The fact he didn't have the merchandize, and he never told me before I sent the money. Just my opinion Posted :: 3/16/2005 9:28:09 PM CST Dry-Heat Team Member ... more thrust per squeeze. Bronze Contributor Joined :: October 2002 Post Number :: 316 AZ, USA I would do -1. The fact he didn't have the merchandize, and he never told me before I sent the money. I concur. Let me add that if it hadn't been for jd123 furnishing me with this seller's telephone numbers, I would probably still be waiting for him. He made no effort - none whatsoever - to communicate with me after I sent funds. Brass - I advise retaining a link to this thread so that potential buyers have some useful "color" about the possible character of a transaction with ARs4EVER. The take-home lesson being: No proof of possession - no money sent. Make sure the seller has physical possession of the merchandise you are seeking to buy ... and have the seller furnish proof (for example, have them email you a few pics ... taken against the backdrop of a current newspaper front page!). I'll ask Aimless to lock his account for selling goods as a dealer without paying. The only stupid ? is the one you don't ask! Bronze Contributor Joined :: October 2002 Post Number :: 317 AZ, USA Boom - I really don't think he's a "dealer" in the strict sense of that term. When I contacted him by telephone, he said he was doing non-stop work at his job ... 12+ hours a day (that was his excuse for not contacting me). When I pressed him about the items I had ordered, he said he would be checking with the "girl at the gun shop" from whom he orders and buys the items that he sells here. I got the impression that he was getting a deal on "bulk" orders (well, bulk to the common consumer, but probably not so relative to a true firearm-oriented business) and was acting as a middleman for sales here on the EE. His dependency on this other source is what got him into trouble with his recent transactions here, as they didn't come through with the goods! I don't know how much of a profit he has been realizing on any AR15.com EE transactions, if any. Although I imagine he was not acting altruistically. I guess it all depends upon how you guys (who make the rules) define "dealer" ... it's plausible that his behavior in the EE fit that definition. He just seems like a guy who's trying to earn some extra scratch when he has the opportunity to do so (although I'm not privy to the history of his transactions, so I may be wrong). The fact he is not willing to come here and explain himself shows me he really does not care. So therefore I don't care for him to be a member here.
