Anybody close to the Sierra factory in Sadalia, that would be interested in getting some factory seconds, and shipping them to me?

Oooh, shipping bullets is a postage nightmare.

Good luck.

Postage nightmare? $8.10 flatrate shipping box up to 55 pounds or whatever the limit is. Thats a lot of bullets.

Sure, assuming they don't make a hole and leak out.

Does Sierra have a factory outlet?

you can buy them at the factory if thats what you mean.  I'm not sure if its really an outlet but they do sell seconds, which as far as I can tell are just cosmetic blemishes and we've had great luck shooting them.

Sierra factory seconds are as good as most companies "firsts". If I didn't live so far away I would be there on a regular basis.

So they have a store attached to the factory or what?

Ya, I thought maybe you did, but I was clarifying for those that didn't know you meant your "other left".  From what I've seen and purchased there, the prices weren't all that hot.

The price will be about 3/4 normal retail.  You will have to sort through the bullets to pull out the obvious malformed bullets and to sort out the bullets of different weight and caliber (there won't be many, but I pulled about 100 55 grain hunting bullets out of fair size batch of 52 gr MK's one time).

The seconds come from three sources - boxes that are dropped and spill open, boxes that are taken to the range for lot testing and don't shot, and bullets that come off the presses during setup.

In my experience with the seconds, the bullets that look okay, are okay, and I quit doing more than a visual inspection.

If I lived closer, I wouldn't buy many bullets of other makes.

They seem to be alot cheaper than this to me.
The value is realized when you get more bullets than you pay for.
I stopped in one day and bought 4 pounds each of about 10 different kinds of bullets.  The lady behind the counter gave me about 20 pounds of each bullet.
I divided the number of bullets received by the price I paid and I had 2 to 4 cents in each bullet!

Its really a crap shoot as to whether you get this kind of deal or not.
Sometimes it's better sometimes its worse.
My buddy went one time and bought 5 pounds of .30 cal 168gr Matchkings and got 40 pounds!
He shot his 30-06's and .308's like ammo was free!
It basically was!
