i will be coming to the springfield/branson area in a few weeks.  is there anywhere that i have to hit?  is there any place to run a few rounds through a pistol in the area?  i have been in the area many times in the past, but never got too far off the beaten path.

Thanks
Brett

Busiek State Park/Forest is between Springfield and Branson, right on Hwy 65. There's an unsupervised range located there. I think it's closed on Mondays though for clean up. There is a supervised range just west of Springfield at Bois d'Arc. I've never been to that one, but I've heard it's pretty nice from folks that have used it.

Gotta hit Bass Pro. Pretty cool if you've never been. I don't recommend the indoor range there, tho.

Oh yeah speaking of museums, while in Branson if you have time try to catch the Ralph Foster Museum on the campus of College of the Ozarks. They have a whole floor dedicated to firearms.

thanks guys, i have been to bass pro.......kinda dont want to go back, the service in the aisles really sucked when i was there this past spring.  i drive past the sporting clays everytime i go down, do they have "rental guns"?  all that i will be bringing with me would be a couple of revolvers.  they dont seem to hit thrown clays too well.  i will definatley check out the museum at the college.  we sat down for dinner there for the first time in about 10-15 years this past spring, that was quite a change from the way it used to be.

thanks for the info,
Brett
