Well did my CCW class today and then to the sheriffs office monday to apply for the permit,then time to wait,Would like to have the money to get a decent carry gun but the old taurus 85 snubby will just have to do for sometime to come it seems like.

Congratulations! What county are you in and how long do you think it will take for them to issue? As for the snubby, don't knock it, it is far better for defense than a harsh word or even a sharp stick! I used to carry a little PA-63 (think makarov with an alloy frame) it was equivalent to a .38 special in power but I never felt too undergunned with it. After all the odds are you will never have to pull it and if you do the mere presence of a gun with end just about any encounter. Have fun and enjoy the personal security you will feel as a new member of those legally "packing heat"! |
| Found a Kahr k9 in perfect shape but it is used for $375 but may just buy a new Bersa thunder .380 for $225,As i got a S&W 3913 i will be using also.just looking for another for carry,as i think the Bersa .380 stainless will be very good for all them hot summer days when just wearing cargo shorts and a t-shirt in a kydex style IWB holster. |
I had the same weird feeling when I first started carrying, now I feel strange if I don't have a gun on me. Have you found yourself looking in mirrors as you pass to see if you are printing? I still do that occasionally though now I just bump my elbow into my side every so often to make sure it is still there and to make sure my shirt isn't riding up or anything. |
