Just got my new (ok, rather old actually) upper. I can't wait to get this thing all together but for now I will simply use it on one of my much more modern lowers.

And yes, I will be bringin it on the 29th.

Gary, what did you have done to it? Looks like it is fresh off of the production line, if not better.

Nice, Gary.  I have an SP1 and an A1 clone.  I will bring mine to the next shoot.  Shall we go "VN" on the next one?  VN era LBE including 20 rd mags ??

Guys, I am surprised. An A1? did you not notice the lack of a forward assist and the three prong flash hider? This is an original M16 upper, not even a chrome chamber and if you could see you would also notice the 1/12 barrel. Alledgely this is an old USAF M16 upper possibly dating back to 1960 or so.
It is kinda funny thinking about it, I get all more excited over getting an old inferior piece (M16)than I would a modern improved (M16A1-A2) piece. I guess the nerd collector is coming out in me.

BTW, I found it on the EE, I believe there are more available, some chrome, some not, some three prong, some birdcage.

And of course I will bring it to the next shoot
I already have the 20rd mags, I will have to see if I can dig up my old combat boots and get hold of an old LBE, maybe even a steel pot.... Does this mean we will get our own hooch out there on the range with a couple of comfort girls and smoke???
(JUST KIDDING ON THE HOOCH AND SMOKE!!!!!comfort girls would be nice though...)

Just these two, the pistol is done, the M16 type I am "borrowing" one of my other lowers to get it up and running for now.

Thanks! and believe it or not it shoots pretty darn good (I attached to to a much more lower I have) Now all I have to do is get an original smooth side bolt carrier, original type lower reciever and a few more parts and I am set!
However I think I will just modern internals and lower reciever, I wanna shoot this thing, not make a museum piece.
