My first time actually in the General Discussion section: Man...What is wrong with those people! Just type to type? Some people need to leave things like foreign policy and Legal issues alone. I guess it is an open forum to express their thoughts, but damn some need to read a Newspaper! Do many of you guys go over there? Just wondering? |

Well, I kinda need to go there due to being Staff. I try to ignore what I disagree with or find offensive. Anything I lock or send to Trash REALLY needs it! Pick your area of interest and ignore the rest! Like any group of folks, we are a diverse lot with widely varing opinions, some right, some wrong. Remember what is most important is our right to EXPRESS those opinions (in a civil manner). I learn a lot in all areas of the board - even in places or threads where I least expect it. I may be a crusty old fart somewhat set in his ways but it is the rare day that this place doesn't teach me SOMETHING. |
I spend a lot of time there...if only trying to sort out the worthwhile discussions from the crap! There are a few golden nuggets from time to time (if you don't mind the thick brown coating ...)  I do like a few of the reoccuring thread such asn the random pictures of anything thread. I stay away (mostly) from the legal and political thread. although I must admit to posting a few times against my better judgment. |

I spend a good bit of time in GD--and love it. Every bit of knowledge known to man is contained in it. I'm serious--collectively we know EVERYTHING. We have no control over who registers and posts, so not every post is worthwhile, or even sane, but there is a great deal of highly valuable and worthwhile content in GD. It probably takes a bit of time to get a feel for it, and to get used to the culture. Most find it somewhat addictive. For sure, as mentioned above, not everyone finds value/interest in the same areas of the site.

If you think that the GD forum at AR15.com is wild, you should try the GD forum at www.pre-ban.com or http:www.assaultweb.com. Those people are friggin crazy. There was a thread on pre-ban dot com awhile back that had me pretty riled up, it was about how the Avilas are government agents and run AR15.com as a gigantic sting so when the government comes for all our guns they can trace everyone through the internet. It was just nuts. |

I try to skim over it everyday. Some very funny stuff gets posted there. For technical info I go to the appropriate forums, but the GD is for laughs. I never bothered to visit it myself until someone pointed that out to me. Now I'm hooked. |

Shi_Huang, what was it that you thought was so crazy exactly? Sure there is alot of political discussion. But don't people in general like to discuss/debate that stuff to begin with? I agree, wholeheartedly though, in that sometimes it's obvious that people will type just to hear themselves type. But hey, I've been known to drink and post on occasion myself.  |

Hey Shamus, LOL! It was several posts that just was people complaining at each other. And it seems that some people post loose opinions and do not give any depth to a debate. It was late...and beer was involved...so I was surprised when I went over there. It moves fast..if you post 5 more people are on it. I have found some cool "topics" and some very funny posts over there now. I posted "This moves too fast" and had some funny replies, but then I posted somebody post some hot chicks or something (as a joke), and someone posted a guy holding two baby chickens! Oh yeah, what is the deal..."PIE"? (I need to get Metalman to show me again how to post pics again) |

Yes, the drinking and posting is entertaining isn't it? Did i mention I'm drinking now? BTW, to post pictures, simply copy the address from where you are hosting it and the put img between [] before it and /img between []after it (all in one sequence). Pie? Well, pie is all what you make of it. |
