Which law makes it illegal for a Chinese Type 56 SKS rifle to have the spike bayonet?  Is it the 1989 Import Ban, or the 1994 AW ban?  In other words, if the AW ban sunsets like we all hope, then will it be legal to install a spike bayonet on a Chinese Type 56 SKS rifle?

You should really try the sks section. (It's lumped in with the AK's)
But to answer your question it falles under the '89 import ban.
The only way to leagly put one on their is by playing the parts count game...Afterseptember of course.
BTW good luck finding enough us made SKS parts to beat the system.

Actually Hellion I think you might be wrong.  I think that bayonnetes are only allowed on pre-ban rifles!! Thats why the bayonnette lug is cut off of all post ban weapons. It doesn't have anything to do with the parts count as much as it has to do with the pre/post ban factor!

But I could be wrong.....

I think Hellion is correct.  SKS that was imported after the 89 ban can be made to have all the evil features after the 94 ban expires as long as it satisfies the US parts count requirements.  Just like the post ban FALs etc.
