Denny's in NKC.  It is small but they are a site sponsor (GTS /Denny's Guns)

Cabela's if you like that sort of thing.  Occasionally a gem in the used section.

Otherwise its not that good in my experience.  I'm sure there are others with good ideas.

Denny's is the best place around, for sure.  They have lots of evil rifles, prebans, weird stuff, I've seen Steyr AUGs there, Valmet M76s, AR180s, Barret 82s, SPAS 12 shotguns, all sorts of evil stuff at different times.

Thanks for the suggestions. Denny's sounds like a place I will like, and close to my class this weekend.

Hey, anyone ever been in Denny's when a couple of gangbanger types walk in??  Place gets real quiet.  Good gunshop, though I usually know more about the gun I am holding than the guy who hands it to me, unless the guy is Chuck, or Denny himself.

Denny walked into my store one time to buy some shirts.  I asked him what his name was, thinking I recognized him, and then told him how much of my money he had taken.  He blamed it on Chuck

Drew:  was in there one time when this black guy walks in, he's old enough that his hair is going grey, which is to say, old enough to know better.  He walks past .454 Raging Bulls, Sig Sauers, Kimbers.  He walks past Glocks and Rugers and HK USPs.  He goes right to the Tec-9 gathering dust on the bottom shelf.

"Goddamn, is that a Tec 9?  Hooo-ly shit.  I gotta see that one."

Why?  Why God, why?

I haven't been to Denny's yet but I plan on it soon(maybe this week). I'm hoping the prices are pretty good because I'm looking to pick up my first AR and I'd rather buy local.

Probably a little bit of both, some of their stuff gets a bit pricey, but they also see alot of kids in there who fondle gun after gun and don't buy anything, and they know that the kid is broke and wasting their time.  Not saying that's YOU, just saying there are alot of kids who do that (I used to be one of em).  The best way to make a good deal at a place like Denny's is to have a shitload of money and come in and buy multiple guns at once and make it a package deal.  For example, "I'll take the Sig P220 and the pre-ban AR180 at sticker price if you knock $200 off the price of that Benelli M1."  You got two guns at pretty close to a fair deal, within $60 or so of what you could do online, so after they shave the price off the Benelli its like you got a good deal on all of them if you just add up their cost, subtract the $200, and then divide it appropriately.  I've never had the $$$ or the balls to do this, but I've seen some really good deals done that way.

BTW Bob's Gun Rack in Lee's Summit is even worse with their prices.  I haven't bought a gun from them in years, they have good stuff there but damn they are proud of it.

My friends and I have all been going to Denny's since high school, I made it a point to buy my first handgun from them for all the trouble we gave them.  A buddy of mine transferred 5 or 6 yugo sks's through Chuck, quantity got hin a pretty decent deal on that one.  Its like any business where the price is not truly set.  They are going to try to get as much for the product as they can, I don't hold that against them, pay too much and not know what you are getting and its your own damn fault.

I was at Denny's last week and priced the Bushmaster M4 clone, they had it listed at 893 and change. Is that about average for this area or should I haggle?

I priced a M4 type Bushmaster at Great Guns in Kearney MO for $880.00. Great Guns are the cheapest by far in the KC area and very friendly. They are about 7 miles noth of Liberty on HWY 35.
