All of you that followed my L1A1 epic story of fixes loose barrel, rat-tail hitting the receiver, mag/feed problems and bolt hanging up on wavy receiver machining...you get the picture…well it turned into a very fine rifle. For the money and a few nights messing with fixing it was really worth the money. I added a sling and a bolt stop pin, but it would not take a scope cover..the straw that broke the camels back. Even though it really shot great and accurate for a FAL (open sights), I was done and have really always wanted a metric FAL. I just received a DSA STG-58 kit to build it myself. The kit is in excellent condition and will match the Imbel receiver, but I will refinish it later. Metalman’s will be modified more than mine. I will be going more for the G1 look. Even though I sold my L1A1 I still think the Century L1A1 for the money is a really good deal. All the snobbish post on how BAD they are is a bunch of crap. Those are shooters and for a reasonable amount of money you can pick up a rifle, several accessories and thousands of rounds still under the price of the “upper models”. Duke and Oz I may still give you a yell. Brad |
