My wife and I applied this morning in Callaway County. We arrived at 8:15 and were leaving by 8:30. Friendly woman wanted to see our certificates and the instructors form before she buzzed us in. She did all the paperwork, made copies of our drivers license, and collected fees. They wanted a $38 check to send to Highway Patrol and $62 cash for the Sherriff dept. revolving fund. Detective took us back to do fingerprinting. They did two cards on each of us. They want to send both cards to lessen the chance of delay/return for a bad print. All very friendly throughout the process. As we were leaving they told us it could take up to 45 days but in reality we could probably pick up our permits in a week or two. Less than 30 people have applied so far.

Kudos to Callaway County Sherriff Dept. for fast and friendly service!

Congratulations unclestu! I'm glad to hear that some Sheriffs' will actually follow the law. That would be great if the permits do get back to you that soon.
