Nice beta. I just found A upper on the Equipment Exchange (Thanks Kpel308 for the sticky!!!) I'll probibly pick it up this weekend. Now I just need A bolt/carrier and A charging handle and i'm ready to rock right with ya. I'll try and post A pic when it's done. Again good loking pice Beta. Hope to see you at the next shoot. |
What a pile of junk. It's not even a Colt. Why, young feller, I remember back in '64 when Colt came out with the SP1, now THERE was a real AR15. Not some cobbled-together crap like that one. And I had to walk 3 miles to school in the snow...![]() Hahaha... man that's a beautiful AR. We need pics of you holding it. Show me your war face soldier! Is the upper Rock River as well? Did it come with the 4 rail forend or did you have to do that yourself? I forsee a pistol grip and/or some rubber grip panels in your near future. |
It is for mounting the M203 grenade launcher. The barrel diameter in that recessed area is the same diameter as the thin barrel used in the M16/M16A1. |
Seriously, I wanted it because looks damn kewl! The bonus was a weight saving of 7-8 ounces, I didn't think the portion under the handgrip was machined down - their catalog shows that portion of the barrel to be thicker. The upper is a Rock River Arms Tactical Entry, with the Yankee Hill Machine Quad Rail. RRA offers it as an option. I wouldn't buy one to put on myself because it looks like you have to remove the front sight to install it. The stock is an ACE I got off the Equipment Exchange for $65 - and I DO have a vertical foregrip on it's way from another guy. An AIMPOINT goes perfectly on the 'carry handle', and I have a used one waiting for me already bore-sighted for this rifle. The little round thing on the right side of the carry handle is a spare battery compartment for the Aimpoint battery. I'll let you guys know how it shoots Sunday! |

Posted by BetaMO And DANG NUGGIT, I'm saving up for ONE! hahahaha - then I'll run the COFs with one of those rounds with 18 .22 shells in it and give dem hostage takers something to think about! What are you talking about here Beta. If this is what I think it is I want one too.

Beta-MO, at least till a year ago, all postban RRA chrome-lined M4 barrel had a thinner diameter under the handguard, the preban however has what they call the SOCOM configuration where the barrel under the HG is actually thicker. So, if your barrel is thin under the HG, you can mount the 37 mm flare launchers .... hehehe. No GL for us civvies ... but if you want the "look" ... the 37 mm launcher is the one to have. Congratulation on an evil looking new rifle! Have you taken it out for a spin yet? |
|
Beta-MO, I am a bit behind in my school work, so may need to use this weekend to catch up. But if I got bored Sunday morning, hey ... Finger Lake is only 10 minutes away from my place. I may see you guys out there. Does Metalman plan to bring up some steel targets this time? oz |
I dont shoot that paper crap anymore!!! Since I hit what I aim at, I like to hear and see that I have done so! Lazy I guess...just dont wanna walk downrange!! Especially with all the yokes ( ) that show up there! I'll probably bring three 3/4" plates and some smaller stuff too! I'm jonesing from not making the shoot!!!!! I think I'll post this for all to see how many we can troll in!!!!! Later skaters!

Hrmm...then why can I buy this for 5K?? ![]() Colt M203 Grenade Launcher COLT M203 40MM GRENADE LAUNCHER - THIS M203 IS ANOTHER RARE EXAMPLE, WITH THE RECEIVER IN THE "WHITE" FINISH. THIS IS A VERY EARLY M203 WITH A SERIAL NUMBER RANGE THOUGHT TO HAVE BEEN MILITARY ISSUE....UNIT IS NEW AND UNFIRED AND COMES COMPLETE WITH HANDGUARD W/ SITE ASSY. RARE $5000 MUHAHAHAHAA!!
|
Hehehe .... I guess I am wrong. But does the tube comes with ammo? Hehee ... that's the main question. But if you have the ammo, where will you shoot it? That thing can go out to 300-400 yards .... no Finger Lake for sure .. LOL . |
I guess I better take another look at my rifle then. I don't remember it looking nearly that good! That's what my rifle will look like when it grows up someday. You did a great job! We will see you Sunday. Eric |

Beta MO and Mousegun, settle down now. That thing is a Destructive Device and the MO legislature says we can't have those. I can't have my canister of Zyklon B either. :( But I digress. Anyway, in states where DDs are legal, each round constitutes a DD as well, which means for each round of ammunition you buy, you must pay the $200 stamp tax. So feeding a real 203 would get expensive real quick. For those of us with the funds and the right location to do it, there is always www.mr40mm.com. |
Ah yes, Duke-Nukem must be the one who told me long ago that we in the ShowMe state cannot have this toy. So I guess the restriction vary from state to state. Thanks for reminding me Duke! |
|
hehehe - damn you DUKE for raining on my parade! I was out shooting my new toy today, and WOW, I LOVE IT!!! I think my AK is going to get jealous of this new rifle and feel neglected. Now I'm going to have to buy equal rounds of both 7.62x39 and 5.56 so they both get enough range time....(SIGH) |
