OK so all of you who made the shoot need to give it up!!!! What did I miss? Anything ? How was the snow? Was the COF challenging? How many hostages took one for the team? Who all showed up? How long did it last?

C'mon .....SPILL!!

Metalman,  I was not there but Duke-Nukem stopped by at my place before heading home.  He said your steel targets were all destroyed.  Gone.

It was very, very cold. And snowy.

The course of fire was very tough.

And your targets are......well mousegun said it best. They're gone!

That's about it!

Thanks everbody for coming out.  It was cooOOOooOOOooooooOOOOoooold but we sure had a ball.  I hope everyone did the same.  We sure had an an awful lot of badguys survive due to their winter camoflage :)

There were several hostages slaughtered but when does a mission ever go exactly according to plan?

What fun!

Thats OK. They were for fun!!!! So.....did anyone have fun with them? If so, I have succeded.

And I find it VERY hard to believe my spinner is destroyed!!! I don't believe it so take pix to prove me wrong!!

I have been struggling with the plate issue for some time now. 5/8" and 3/4" plate are the only things that can withstand centerfire rounds (not counting Gary's butter cutting slugs!). Thats why you see very little offered for rifles at any range closer than 100 yards in steel reactives. They just cant take it. And the whole alloy issue is a load in my opinion. In fact, I can make harder steel just by shooting it a lot, there-by cold forging it to near tool steel. Well, looks like i'll see if the 3/8" plate is worth mucking with.....hmmmmm.

Like I said, If anyone had ANY fun blasting away at that stuff.....all the welding and cutting was worth it!!

Metalman, I for one (and I think I speak for us all) had a TON of fun shooting at your targets. I wish I had a few for my small range. If you need a hand making more, holler at me and maybe we can hook up one of these weekends.

Funny thing is the popper is still functioning!

He likes that drum mag so much I'm going to start calling him Babyface(Nelson).

Shamus gets behind the full auto FAL.  Keep leaning forward, dude.

Erik the mauser meister did not fail in his authentic German issue winter camoflauge.  Sadly, no bayonets were deployed today.

My buddy Hellion takes a turn behind my old trusty G3 clone.  Hey Beavis, 7.62 NATO goes through cars and stuff, huh huh huh...

And lastly, since nobody else took pics, and Metalman was not there to photoshop me, I am sadly forced to photoshop myself.  New PC desktop wallpaper for Duke Nukem is:

Haha, more fun with my digicam.  The first picture was taken during the Bastogne campaign in the winter of 44, when fallschirmjager units were used as infantry during the so-called "Battle of the Bulge".

The second picture was taken today with my digicam set to "sepia" and later altered in MS Paint and Polyview shareware on my PC.  Cool huh?  We all have our daydreams...
