Know your zero if you are using optics, long range will have some 100 yd steel..then at a mix out to 300! Most of the other stages are close range shooting, you will do a good bit of shooting on each stage so take you time and tag all the targets.. And don't be like me,

The last time I shot this match was January of 09.  The long range stuff killed me.

Sorry for the delay in response guys, been busy with work/travel lately.

First, the match at the end of the month will be the usual board of fare.  Two stages will have steel shots on flash targets from 100-280ish yards with your carbine.  If you had trouble with that last time, I suggest you get out and practice over the next couple of weeks.  Most of the pistol stuff will be up close, fast and furious.  All the cardboard carbine targets will be the reduced size variiety and will take two hits to neutralize.  A couple of the stages are set up already.  Fun factor will be high as always.  If you've never shot a burst out of an M16, you will at this match.

The carbine championship is tentatively scheduled for the last Saturday in October.  It will be one day this year (not two as in the past) and there will not be a prize table.  The big extravaganza of the past couple of years was fun but got to be too much of a production.  It'll still be a great match as far as content.

There's a lot of politics going on at the range right now. None of it will affect the April 30th match but may affect things going forward. Further updates as conditions warrant.  See you hardheads at the end of the month.

Thanks David,

I have never shot a m16.  The only full auto I have played with is a mp5.  I am looking forward to it.
What size reduced targets are we shooting?

No slant holster, 3 mags, a way to carry mags and least 100 rds. It's basically like the tac match but will swap to the pistol during the stage and swap back or start or end with the pistol. No rd limit on the mags.

1) The match on 4/30 is Carbine/Pistol.  Tim, call me or e-mail if you'd like to discuss.  Since we're shooting on Friday, there won't be too many people to laugh at (oops, with) you!
2) Carbine targets are around 1/2 size standard IPSC targets.  Still not that hard to it with a carbine.
3) The Carbine Championship will be the last Saturday in Oct pending range situations.

Hope that helps.

Razor, you are limited to 10 rounds in the pistol mags. No cheating. The rules are the rules. We will be watching.  However everyone else can load their pistol mags to full capacity with out being in violation of said match rules. The special pistol magazine capacity limit rule is for Scott only.

Scott said he's giving everyone a sporting chance and shooting a revolver.  No mags, just speedloaders.
