great thai restaurant called thai house there - don't know what days they are open - one of the only things i miss about the place - get the neau num tok and moo satay appetizer. pad thai is good too.
shapleys and nicks were also good restaurants. guess they're still open the museum of natural science is pretty good there's a bass pro and atlanta braves aa team in pearl van's is a good gun shop kind of out from town a little the vicksburg military park is worth a side trip if you have time, it's about an hour away there were several battles in the area in the vicksburg campaign (raymond, jackson, champion's hill) but other than vicksburg i don't think there's much to the battlefields used to be a museum in the old capitol but i haven't been there in 30 years keep your eyes open there's a decent amount of crime |
