Well guess the key word is help.  I'm not asking anyone to get me on with a company.  Just point me in the direction of a application or place to send a resume.  Here is were I've put in so far.  Parker Drilling, Ensco, TransOcean, Diamond, and Noble.  If anyone knows of any I have left out let me know.  I'm looking for a roustabout position.  Thanks ahead of time.

Rowan, Todco. I think Rowan pays better of those 2. Rowan has a reputation for not laying people off, but I think its had new management since the last oilfield slump. YMMV, Good Luck.

edit: Oh Is Todco and Transocean the same?

I think so.  Todco handles the barge rigs and jack ups, while Transocean handle the deepwater stuff.

Thanks for the help guys.  Two companies that none of us mentioned was Nabors and Greywolf.  The only friend that I have that works offshore (Rowan) is out right now.  Kinda hard to ask him when he's on the rig.  I used to have a bunch of friends that work or I should say worked offshore.  I quit messing with them when they started using meth.

I didn't mention Nabors or Grey Wolf because I thought you were looking for offshore only. There's also Unit drilling, they have some decent sized land rigs.

Another couple of offshore companies I thought of: Global Santa Fe. Marine Drilling. I don't know if Sundowner is still around and there's Pride offshore, both of these are mainly platform rigs.

ETA: The pay is normally lower on land rigs and platform rigs, you'd probably be better trying for companies with jackups and floaters. (the first few you mentioned + the few that I did) Most land rigs don't have roustabouts BTW. You'd probably start out as a floor hand or something.
