Anybody know when the next one is? I need to buy some more 50 cal ammo cans and one or two of the large ammo cans for bug-in storage stuff. A military surplus place would probably suffice but I don't know of any in Bham???

Bessemer has a decent Army Surplus store.  It's located a few blocks down the street from the new Lowes just off  I59/20.    Larry

last time i was in the bessemer store it was 90% commercial cheap crap. the new owners are going to kill it quickly selling urban camo to the local youths.

I forgot about the Evacuee's being there, but when they do get back to putting on the gun shows, the pent-up demand will more than make up for missing a show or two.

The Birmingham News sucks. I just use www.al.com to search the classifieds. Personally I think the news on al.com sucks too since it comes from the Bham news. I haven't found any media outlet I like in this city; I guess Fox is okay.

Anyways, back to the matter at hand. I am not just looking for plain old .50 boxes. I am looking for bigger storage containers and 30 gal. water drums.

I found a pretty nice container on the net last night but it is $50 before you include shipping. There has got to be something local? It doesn't have to be military surplus, just waterproof and decent size, like 36 inches in length or longer. Like a small chest but waterproof. Any ideas?

Here is the one from online:

I went to Bresco and Dixie Restaurant places th eother day and didn't see any, but I also wasn't looking for any either. I was getting other goodies. That gives me an excuse to go back!

Bresco is pretty sweet for those who like to cook and have never been.

VITO?! damn there's a name i haven't heard in awhile. that mans been "going out of business" for 5 years that i can remember. he offered to make us some KILLER deals on ammo. FULL RETAIL price for old surplus that he's been storing forever.

he seems like a good guy though and someone i'd split a beer or 6 with.

Hey Beetle

Vito has a "store" (for the lack of a better term) in Hueytown.  At times it looks more like a salvage shop, but he has quite an arsenal.  Apparently, he is a former LE officer and began collecting guns.   He's now trying to get rid of them but is very proud of them.
