I know how you feel I finally got my ORF 1919 running. It was such a great fealing, I did not have to charge the weapon after each shot. Now I am looking at a 8mm kit. |
did your have the infamouse broken sear problem as well? KMP is really the only way to go on these things. |
Ummmmmmmmmmm, ya expecting to be defending against some ME-109 strafing runs, there Beer Slayer??? ![]() (Remind me not to fly over Camden.........WAIT A MINUTE!!! ..... Belt-fed, anti-aircraft sights, Camden, Patsy Cline plane crash........coincidence???....I THINK NOT!!!!) ![]()

The first problem was with the sear, it was too long. When the trigger pulled the sear down the bottom of the sear would hit the top part of the lock frame. To fire the gun I would have to pull very hard on the trigger to get the striker to release. What I needed to do was to shorten the sear, first I tried to stone it down and then tried a file. Finally I said F it and took the sear to the grinder. After I shortened the sear I noticed that the trigger did still did not have enough movement to release the striker. To fix that problem I took the trigger out and ground down the top of the trigger that passed through the back plate. Once I was able to get the gun to fire 100% of the time I was then able to address the feeding problem. What that problem was the belt feed pawl was riding over the link and not advancing the belt into position, where the extractor would pull a fresh round out of the link. To fix this ORF sent me a new spring that would go under the belt hold pawl. The original spring for the belt hold pawl was so stiff that the links would not compress it down enough to allow the link to advance. You are right the KMP trigger and sear is the only way to go. I plan on buying a spare bolt and lock frame, then sending them out to be machined for KMP's sear and trigger. Matt |
When are you going to come out with a beer holder for the 1919? |
I think a beltfed requires longnecks on a belt as well.... product under development. TRG |
hell, if you boys are providing beer and steaks, I'll show up sometime. I'll even provide the ammo. TRG |

I have alot of free weekend coming up (summer vacation for teachers) shoot me an alert on the next shoot. I'll see what I can do. TRG PS. Of course, it means somebody has to put my ass up in a spare room. And I have a tendency to linger around free food, alcohol, board... |
