Ok, I'm ready to take the step and get my suppressor (or two, who knows what the tax man may bring While we're at it, what exactly am I gonna have to do to get some new quiet toys? I leave myself in your capable hands.... Ummmm, not that way though. |
Is Matt the one I've seen SGN ads for - Sound Suppression Technologies or something like that? Just curious... |

Thanks - I don't know anything about either of them. But I would like to buy a couple of suppressors over the next few years & I would prefer to buy ones that were made locally. |

I am in North Alabama, Athens, to be exact. I have a very small web site up now and have plans to expand it very soon. Go to www.precisiondefense.com. I do not do a lot of shows but am starting to do more as time goes by. If you ever get into this area give me a call and we can get together and shoot. Tony G Precision Defense Systems Inc. |

mguntony, Can I contact you directly about some suppression ideas? I'd appreciate the opportunity to work with an AR15.com member. Plus, if you have my stuff up there, it will give me incentive to get up there to the Slayer compound for a shoot later in the year. Thanks. Woody |
| Twire , Short Barreled Rifles and Short Barreled Shotguns are not legal for civilins to own in Alabama. LEO's can own them if used in the line of duty , this includes both on duty use and off duty practice. I will quote the Title for you. Title 13A-11-63 , Alabama Code , "(a) A person who possesses, obtains , receives , sells , or uses a short-barreled rifle or a short-barreled shotgun is guility of a Class C felony. (b) This section does not apply to a peace officer who possesses , obtains , receives , sells , or uses a short-barreled rifle or a short barreled shotgun in the course of or in connection with his official duties." If you want to own a "short-barreled' shotgun in Alabama you can get around this law by buying a shotgun classed as a NFA "Any Other Weapon". This is in effect a "Short-barreled" shotgun without a full stock, pistol grip type stock ONLY. Any Class 3 Dealer can get you one. Most models , Rem 870's and Mossberg 500's run around $500 plus a $5 NFA transfer Tax. Hpoe this answers your questions. Tony |

I have bolt gun .22LR suppressors starting at $125, they are threaded 1/2x28. My semi rated suppressors in .22LR start at $150. Tax on a suppressor is $200 for the stamp and the local sales tax. I am an involuntary taxcollector for the state, I have no choice if I am in business. Tony G |

I've been following this board for a while and didn't join up until today. I took a Ruger to Tony yesterday to have suppressed. I spent a coupla hours in his shop with he and his son and saw and played with some of his "toys". I was very impressed with Tony and his work. I like to deal with good people and Tony is good people. I left the pistol there in exchange for lots of paperwork. I think this will be the first of many weapons that I either have worked on by Tony or purchase from Tony. I think I may have to look into buying one of those things that have three settings on the selector switch instead of two. Thanks Tony for putting up with me yesterday. Gordon |
Yoo hoo. when you get some time, let me know.
