Ok I am wanting to get started shooting three gun matches. But where are some held and when. What is involved to do these? Thanks for your time.

Well the first thing you need is 3 gun's! Just kidding.
We have matches at FOP range in Pleasant Grove Al.We shoot IPSC the first Sunday of every month,a rifle and shotgun match the 4'th Sat and a 3-gun match @ every 3 months.We have a rifle match this Sat.
You need a good semi-auto rifle such as a AR-15,AK etc..2 or 3 mags.
