Guys,

I've just about had it with Comcast!  They never showed up on 11/28, because they said they had no record of my appointment.  It was scheduled online, and my credit card was charged (then the charge was reversed...strange?).  The tech came out and couldn't get the internet working,(He was there for 2 hours and as he was getting ready to leave, he said I'd have to call customer service).  There are cables all over the yard, and I realized last night the tech disconnected all the cables to the satellite dish, and now I have no TV as well.  Dish Network said the charge would be $95 minimum because it was Comcast's fault, and they have no idea until the tech gets there what the final bill will be.  I've explained the situation to Comcast, and they are unwilling to reimburse the charges by Dish Network.  But they said they'd happily disconnect my service since I was unhappy.

I used to have Frontier for DSL but disconnected it a few years ago because the service was lousy.  I live at Fremont Rd and Midway Dr in South Haven.  Anyone on here live in the area with Frontier?  How is the internet?  Does it still suck?  According to Frontier, where I live is "not a high demand area" but they won't know how reliable the service will be until its installed.

Any advice?  Thanks guys.  Its been a while since I've been on here.

Erick

Just called Frontier and they said the max speed I could most likely get is 1.6.  So I'm going to avoid them.

I'm in Fort Wayne, and with Frontier here I get 30 down and 6 up. I had Comcast for awhile when they first started cable internet, and they sucked bad. Frontier still sucks, but it doesn't quit every time it rains. It's too bad they don't have decent service there.

I live pretty close to you.  Don't get me wrong - I'm no big fan of Comcast, but I wouldn't go back to Frontier if they gave it to me for free.  I had nothing but problems with Frontier & download speeds were absolutely awful. As far as customer service - they both basically suck.

Both suck pretty hard but the service is better with Comcast (internet service, not customer service). At least in the Lafayette area. I got rid of Comcast earlier this year for Metronet fiber which is head and shoulders above anything I've had before both in internet and customer service. Unfortunately if your only choices are Comcast and Frontier I'd go with the faster of the two and put up with Comcast's crappy CS. Sucks being stuck between a rock and a hard place.
