You don't have a drill and know anyone with a welder?  Even a cheap stick welder will suffice.

Honestly I've been thinking about trying it myself, I'll have to read up on it as far as drill depth into the threads and width

Drill the muzzle device first then place it on the barrel and use the hole you made in the muzzle device as a guide to drill the dimple for the pin on the barrel. If you have a drill press you can set the depth stop to make sure you don't go too far. I'd also recommend using a center drill to get things started so the drill bit doesn't "walk" and make a mess of things, which can happen easily when trying to drill on a rounded/curved surface.

I've done quite a few of these everything from Smith Vortex to KAC NT4 for block II clones. I predrill flash hider or comp then index and drill barrel, press in pin and seal pin in with TIG weld. very clean and neat appearance. I live 20 minutes south of Ft. Wayne
