| OK I've just kinda been sitting back after the whole bin laden (no point in caps) death. So without putting on tinfoil hats what's gonna be our next threat to the U.S. I'm not selling my motor home anytime soon,getting rid of my canned food or water supply. I'm not trying to sound paranoid just curious. I like to think I'm prepared. |
| I worked with a guy (attorney) in Iraq who spent a lot of time in anti-terrorism work for .gov on the east coast. When asked about what the most likely, in his opinion, terror event that we could expect to happen in the US he replied, "dirty bomb on Wall Street." He said, at the time, it would happen in five years (2015). |

I'd say the worst threat to us is the man currently in the White House and the rabid left wing loudmouths who blindly support him. In my 63 years I have never seen the American economy this bad, I've never seen America this far in the hole and I've never seen America so badly divided along racial, ethnic, political and ideological lines.

I'm not quite as old as you, but I think the late '60's were far worse for racial and political polarization than what we are seeing today. Of course, back then the problems came to a head and people were in the streets. Now, it's all under the surface. But until it erupts again, the times we are living in currently are peaceful compared to earlier times. |

Probably not as sexy as some other types of terrorism, but I believe cyber space is going to be the next big battlefront. Homegrown and International hackers will be looking for ways to cripple our finical, social, and information security for their own reasons.
The scenario never starts with bullets, but if social services were to break down because of a cyber attack......I'm sure there will be plenty of civil unrest. Most Americans (myself included) have become so reliant on the internet, we wouldn't know how to operate a non iPod device to get up to date news. LOL. |

While I'm not an Obama fan, I'm pissed that the Republican party can't seem to muster anyone worth a shit to run against him.
