Evening All,
I grew over in Mitchell, but Uncle Sam ordered me out onto a Navy Destroyer back in 93 and I haven't had enough to call "uncle" yet. My folks moved over to Salem after my dad retired and I don't get back home nearly enough. I recently rotated off of a DDG in Norfolk over into a staff puke job and have some time off. I'm gonna drive my two sons up to spend a few days with their grandparents in the back half of August. Do you all know of any competitions that are going on around southern Indiana between the 22nd and 26th? I'd like to check out anything that's going on up that way while I'm there. I'll prolly retire in a few years and how knows, I may end up moving back from where I came from before the Navy got me. Take Care, Doc |

Spent many a good Saturday evening in Bedford growing up. My neice graduated from BNL this year, my nephew did a few years ago; he's stationed onboard the USS Lincoln right now.
I miss Indiana pretty good, especially on deployment. But it's been so long since I've lived there, home is now wherever the Navy sends me. Take Care and Stay Safe, Doc |
| Senior I am in Orleans. Have you checked out the Shooting Sports forum on http://ingunowners.com/forums/shooting_sports/? I will ask around to see if there is anything going on. |

I haven't, but I will now. Thanks for cluing me into it. Have you always lived in Orleans? I was a Bulldog for a very short period of time. If you've grown up there my last name is probably familiar to you. I still have some kin that lives there. My last name is Moffatt.

Nice. Those old Spruance were the best. I did a few years on 968. I've never been on the Roosevelt, but I'm on the Monterey pretty regularly though. They just got a new Doc so we kinda gotta keep the training wheels on so to speak. I'm always surprised when I hear of other Navy folks from Indiana. How one can grow up in a state with no coastline and end up in blue water never ceases to confound me.
