In a little over a month, we're back on standard time. I'm for unifying the time zones in Indiana to CST/CDST.

Indiana is never going to be a sole central time zone state unless Ohio, the eastern part of Kentucky, and Michigan go Central too. Don't hold your breath waiting for that too happen. All you need to know is that Indiana is the bridge between the Central and Eastern zones and a bridge, by definition, has a foothold on each side of the divide. |

makes more sense to just go to EST. who gives a crap about Gary? or are we catering to them because they're too stupid to understand how a timezone works? DST is freaking awesome. light until 10pm during the summer? forgettaboutit.... I don't care about Gary one bit. Whether you like it or not, Chicago is the business hub of the midwest. I makes sense to = Chicago time. One point we agree on is DST, whatever the time zone. |

Now we're EDT and they are CDT .. your reasoning doesn't make sense to me I Think the RETARDS that came up with this ..DST.. think you can cut a foot off of the top of a blanket , sew it back onto the bottom and have a longer blanket

| Unless we pick up the fucking state and move it to the east coast it's not going to change. We're on the western edge of the time zone, so we're in a tough spot and not everyone is going to be happy. I personally don't want to be on CDT, it'd defeat the purpose of it being light out until 9:30 during the summer. |
| Speaking of In. time, a buddy of mine hunts on his family's ground in IL, but its not far from the Vincennes area. He said last year he set the alarm on his phone to go off in the morning during deer season. It went off, and he went out and sat by the campfire for a bit. After a while, he thought "damn its taking a long time to get light". He thought about it, and realized his phone had jumped towers and was in the different time zone. It must be right on the edge, because we both have Verizon and one time my phone said 3pm and his phone said 4pm. I feel sorry for you guys that have to put up with stuff like that on a daily basis. |
| I really don't understand why we would consider going to central when it only affects a corner of the state. I find it funny that ppl use the "it's better for business" approach when it really doesn't matter. (I'm sure other major eastern cities are having a great deal of trouble doing business with chicago) we're geographically located in the eastern (though on the edge) part of the country. Deal with it. Or, support the crazy idiots that want to break the NW part of the state to merge with IL. Point is, IN is eastern so we should just leave it where it is and stop brining this crap up again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again.... |

Wrong-Indiana is physically located in the CST time zone. |
| You know what is awesome, having to figure out which county is one which time fast or slow. I go home to my parents house and if I want to go somewhere I have to figure that out. They are on slow (aka central) time and the other counties around them are on fast (eastern) time. They stay on fast time because that is the time that they work on. It sucks having to ask people if their get togethers are on fast or slow time. Make the whole state eastern and I would be happy. |

3 options;
Go back like it was before we joined the 47 states that have the idea that they are making more light. (My preference). Make the time zone boundary go straight through the middle of the state. (this would particularly piss off the folks in Indy, splitting the city into 2 time zones Put the whole state on the 1/2 hr. (OH=12:00, IL=11:00, IN=11:30). This would just piss off everyone! |

Arizona still has the right idea. Sure they do ![]() Damn right they do. It can't be good having to readjust your biological clock twice a year. Daylight wasting time went the wrong direction. If they'd wanted to make it useful they should have gone the other way and made it so in the winter you can at least have part of your evening still have light. As it is now, if you work 8-5 you get up in the dark and you are home in the dark. Better still to have left it alone, we had many decades of not having to readjust the clocks foolishness. |

Just because the rest of the country gave in to DWT silliness didn't mean we had to as well, Laverne. (there, you can report me too

Can someone clarify the following for this out of stater that spent his summer working near Valpo? 1) NW IN is on CDT and changes to CST at the time change. 2) Most of IN from South Bend east and south of a certain point running north-south and encompassing Indy down to southern IN is on Eastern Daylight Savings time? 3) Part of IN near Evansville is Central Time? 4) Part of IN near Kentucky is on Eastern? |

That's Racist!!
Yep; this is one subject you know you can count on twice a year. The funny part is there's always the same arguments too,... year after year after year after year after year...
