i'll be coming home from college this thanksgiving and christmas, i recently sold my fal then a ak47,  to get the ar15, i want to be able to let off a couple continuous rounds without a rangemaster down my throat.  i usually go to my buddy's house to shoot, but if i'm going to be shooting a 100 rds or so i want an unmonitored range, any help is appreciated

Have you tried Jasper/Pulaski? It's off 10 a little ways east of Wheatfield. When I come home, we usually go there. No rangemasters, just some courtious people. I'll look to see if I cant find a website...

Found it. It was in the tacked ranges thread.

Jasper/Pulaski Fish and Wildlife Area
1.75 miles west of US 421 on SR 143
Medaryville, 219-843-4841
Facilities include: archery, rifle, shotgun, handgun range (trap only)

Theres typically a DNR range officer there whenever I've been there on weekends.  They just sit in their truck and watch.  We tended to move forward on the rare occasion they werent there on a sunday.
