Check out Shooter521's posts about the FR&I pistol and shotgun courses coming up listed here and in the training section.

Also contact Capt. Ken Campbell From Boone Co. Sheriff's Dept. He hosts classes all summer long. I'd be willing to bet that all of the 2005 classes are full with waiting lists just in case someone drops out.

Both run awesome training.

In addition to what has already been mentioned you should look at surrounding states.  There are several other training opportunities within a few hours driving distance.

The important thing is that you train SOMEWHERE.

We have DETC classes here in Wisconsin. When we have them I try to post to the surounding states HT boards as well. Shooter521 was just up this weekend for a carbine course.

Racine is a pretty easy drive from Indy, and this weekend's carbine course was well worth the trip.  Also deserving of mention are TDI in Ohio and the Lethal Force Institute courses in Rochester IN and central Illinois.  Local courses are certainly convenient, but there's good stuff happening on a regular basis within a day's drive of Indy - all ya gotta do is seek it out.

I'd love to see more "cross pollination" with class notices on the various hometown boards. If it wasn't for Photoman posting here, I'd never have known about the WI class.

John Farnam (DTI) was just in Winamac for a little over a week.  He's there every year.
