| Hey fellow marylanders. I'm wanting to hit the range this morning. Where should I go. I think it's supposed to be nice out today so I'm up for outdoor indoor or whatever. Any good ideas? |

I'm in the dc area. At some point in the future I'm hoping to find a good outdoor range to try out my old mosin I cleaned up. The ones I frequent are gilberts in rockville and maryland small arms in upper matlboro. They are relatively close and both allow rifles to be shot, though the distances are not very far. I can't recommend any good outdoor ranges as I'm still looking for one myself. |

You just either need to be a member, or go as a guest with a member. Having said that I'd be more than happy to guest you sometime. |

It's always helpful to mention your location when posing a question like that.
Elk Neck State Forrest, in North East, is an outside State sponsored shooting range with a 100 yard rifle range, a 50 yard pistol range and a small shotgun stand. The rifle range will accept anything up to and including 50 cal, but no incendiary or fire producing rounds. No automatic fire is allowed. $10 day pass or $50 for a yearly pass, Seniors get a discount 1/2 price which is $25. Day Passes can be obtained at the entrance, yearly passes can be obtained at Wal Mart. Bring your own target stands, center of target must be 48" off the ground, targets, ammo since nothing is sold there. RSOs are on duty every weekend. Safety is mandatory so is having fun !!! |
